We are an agro-food farm located in Pavullo, Frignano territory at 700m o.s.l.;
in the heart of Parmigiano Reggiano Tresure Island. We biologically till 300 hectars of
pasture to feed our 600 bovines, which produce the milk we transform in Parmigiano Reggiano, and
500 sheeps to produce milk which we transform in cheese.
The use of machines and modern technologies improved the way we administer the food to our cows,
but not the typology which is still like in the old times: mixed grass pastures, medical herbs,
cereals and vegetal proteins (whole soybean). Ideal food for a ruminant which has to produce
excellent milk to be curdled.
The whole production chain, from the preparation of terrains to the production of pastures,
to the breeding, to the transformation of the milk in cheese, to the maturing of the cheese,
and, finally, to the distribution of the diary products to your dining table is guaranteed
by the experience and professionality of Società Agricola Caseificio Poggiocastro s.r.l. which, at any stage
of production guarantees natural and genuine products.
Our production includes: soft cheese, cow, sheep and blended milk caciotta, mozzarella,
stracchino, cow and blended milk ricotta, butter, cream cheese, tosone and that nature's miracle
which is Parmigiano Reggiano.
